Before any remodeling starts, Restoration 1 of West Denver recommends asbestos testing. In this case study, one of the owners of condo complex who owned a unit on an upper floor, had his home remodeled without testing for asbestos.
Project: When the remodeling resulted in an asbestos spill, the state shut down all construction at the condo. The state ordered the HOA to clean up all common areas and exterior property immediately.
Problem. The entire condo complex, including common areas and exterior building areas, was declared a major asbestos spill. Immediate action was required. The condo complex contracted Restoration 1 of West Denver to clean all floors of the condo as well as other common areas. Additionally, the owners of several condos, including the owner of the condo that caused the original spill, contracted Restoration 1 to clean their individual units as well. An asbestos spill demands immediate attention because of the harm it can cause to the health of residents.
Solution. Restoration 1 was called in to do a complete and thorough cleanup of the condos. Because the cleanup involved common areas shared by all tenants, Restoration 1 of West Denver was forced to shut down stairwells and elevators for multiple days while the cleanup was in progress.

Results. The shutdown was both complex and disruptive. Tenants and owners were required to leave the condos while floors were being cleaned. To ease tensions and to answer questions, Restoration 1 met with the entire HOA and homeowners. We outlined a plan that impacted all residents as little as possible. Our technicians were able to complete the plan on time, and on budget.
