A tenant was evicted from an apartment earlier this year. Unbeknownst to the property manager, the tenant left the shower running. A representative of the owner went into the unit about a month after the tenant had been evicted, only to find the entire unit was covered with mold. Restoration 1 of West Denver demoed the unit, completed mold remediation and then rebuilt it. Below is how the process unfolded. A video link is provided at the end of this article.
Project: After the discovery of mold throughout the apartment, the property manager contacted Restoration 1 to professionally clean and restore the area.
Problem. When mold is apparent throughout an area, it can be hazardous to the health of occupants. In this case, the water was running for so long that the apartment was subject to high humidity. Entire walls and floors were covered in mold. Because mold can cause respiratory issues and allergy flare-ups, the entire apartment had to be cleaned professionally in order to return the apartment to the owner for occupancy.

Solution. Using advanced equipment and proven technology, Restoration 1 performed a safe cleanup, eliminating mold from all visible surfaces – as well as hidden areas (behind closed doors, in closets and under flooring. The restoration includes repairing and replacing drywall, replacing flooring and sealing affected areas.

Results. Once the mold is removed, we install new drywall and provide full damage restoration. Owners can now safely return the apartment to new tenants.
